After we got in and took a good look around (without the furniture that was in here), we realized that it was not going to flow well without knocking down some walls. Great! We waited for the phone and internet to be hooked up and we have paint samples but we had to wait for building and fire inspectors from the county to come. Then they said that we needed demolition and electrical permits to knock down walls (they are just partition walls). After some lengthy discussions with the county and taking them my homemade floorplan, it turns out that we don't need the demo permit after all. It seems that the walls that were put up were never permitted to begin with and they can't issue a permit to tear down something that according to them, doesn't even exist! Ok, but we still need the electrical permit so we are meeting with our contractor friend to finally get the walls down and the electrical done. According to the business license building inspector we also need to install some emergency lights so if the power goes out, people can find their way out. Ok, it's only 800 sf-how lost can they get? After all that is done, then we can paint and get things put away and Da Da Da Da...we can open! Not only are we learning about patience and letting things progress in Divine time but we appreciate your patience as well as you wait for us to open and announce classes, etc. Malachi keeps telling me to "take a breath" and let it flow. We are beginning to get inventory delivered and we got a bargain counter (needs a little work but it was cheap!). I will keep you all posted as we progress. It is exciting to be this close but also frustrating. I don't do well waiting for things when I'm ready to go but again, I am learning that "to everything there is a season..." Of course, the season for opening might change from summer to fall but ok, I can wait. I've waited over 25 years for this...a few more weeks won't kill me. AttachmentsI have been getting a lot of information lately from my guides about attachment. Some of what they are saying I get, some I don't. I know that they are trying to get me to see what I am attached to and to let it go. Attachment is only ego getting in the way of Spirit. Attachments are things that cannot be moved or changed, we can only change our mind about them. They have used the Devil card in the Robin Wood Tarot deck to illustrate that for me. It is a picture of a man and woman trying to move a treasure chest down a long tunnel towards the door to the world at the end. The problem is that not only are they pulling in opposite directions but the chest is chained to the walls. They don’t see that, even if they were both pulling in the same direction, the chest is immovable. My guides call the chest "the box". They keep asking me what "box" I am attached to and why I can't let it go. They want me to decide to give up on trying to move the unmovable. That, my friends, is easier said than done. I have a lot vested in my "boxes". When I think of giving them up, I feel afraid, guilty, unsure. What I am slowly coming to realize is that no matter what form (meaning) the "box" seems to take, it is really only my ego that has formed it. This year I am studying A Course in Miracles. The lessons of the last few days have been on realizing that nothing has any meaning except what I give it and that any meaning comes from my past and is illusion. My "boxes" are illusions and the sooner I realize that, the farther along I will be in my spiritual journey. Again, it's not easy-the ego is a very powerful force in our world. It fights hard to survive and will stop at nothing-no weapon is too much to use in its arsenal. It brings up the faces of those I love, the home I love, the fear of what people will say, the uncertainty of survival and more. I have let some of my “boxes” go already. I intend to let them all go as soon as possible. With the help of my guides and my angels and God, I know I will. What “boxes” are you attached to? Everything that we "resolve" to do in the new year is illusion except one-when we vow to be more loving. Being in Love is the only reality and dissolves all of those old attachments and illusions and lays our ego safely and quietly to rest. My vow for the new year is to be in Love. We are human be-ings not human do-ings. Being in Love is our only hope-it is the only thing that we were truly meant to do. I love you all.
